Vision & Core Values

We are proud of our history and look forward to our future. We have been in business since 1946, when two returning World War I veterans, Chester Church and Alfred Murdock decided to take a risk and go into business together. Having the privilege of being a third generation locally owned and operated company isn’t taken lightly within our organization. We are proud to be able to work in a field where we are helping develop the same community where we are raising our families. Our goal is to continue to grow both the business and the community for future generations. We believe that following through on the following values will ensure we are in operation for another three generations.

Investment in People

At Church and Murdock we want a team of bright energetic people who are self-sufficient and driven, with each member of the team taking ownership of their role and driving improvements within their fields. We are dedicated to investing in training and development for our team, we view this as providing the team the tools they will need to create further success for the company.

Dedication to Partnerships

We recognize that our success will hinge on how well we create and maintain our partnerships. These partnerships can’t be unidirectional, we are committed to developing relationships with our customers, suppliers, workforce and fellow contractors in order to create success for one another.

Emphasis on Community

We have lived and grown in Erie. Our vendors and customers are right here in our backyards, and we want to continue to make Erie an even better place to live and raise our families. We aren’t planning on going anywhere, so this type of development just makes sense to us.

We are looking at a simple recipe: Develop a team and constantly improve our skills, focus on the long term by creating lasting relationships based on mutual benefit, after creating success take the time to give back to the community that has given so much to us.
